I’m not sure what it is, but I find that a lot of the sequels I have been reading lately do not meet my expectations like the first book in the series/5(). It's not the book that's bad.. Steve Solomon and Victoria Lord are characters I loved in "Solomon vs Lord", therefore I was thrilled to see them return in "The Deep Blue Alibi". In the first book, Steve was droll, keen eyed, sharp tongued and intelligent. Victoria was preppy, sassy, intelligent and a . The Deep Blue Alibi is the sequel to Solomon vs. Lord. In the first book readers met Victoria Lord, an uptight by the book kind of lawyer, who through a series of hilarious twists and bizarre turns finds herself partnered with Steve Solomon, another lawyer who 5/5(5). series from the veteran Levine should know better. THE DEEP BLUE ALIBI, if anything, eclipses the opening volume. It is, in a word, hilarious. Steve Solomon is the consummate wisecracker, but his façade hides a canny street sense that serves him well in the courtroom trenches. Equal parts class clown.
